GONE TRAVELING

I have to put the beads and polymer clay away for a few days.  We are traveling to "Death Valley National Park", and will be away until April 7th.  It is going to really warm up this next week, 90 degrees or so here in the Palm Springs area, so can just imagine how hot it will be in Death Valley.  We have AC in the travel trailer, so can always come in out of the sun.  Here are a couple of maps of the area we will be touring.  I will blog more when I return.

Polymer Pizzazz 2

Are you ready for a new book?  I just purchased one called

"Polymer Pizzazz 2".

This book has 25  beautiful projects to create.  Many of the projects were previously featured in Bead and Button and Art Jewelry magazines.

On page 37 is their Bandana Pattern Bracelet, my first project from the book.  Here is my start with the beads.  I'll post the finished bracelet when it is finished.  Unfortunately it called for between 24-30 beads, I made 24 and it's not enough.  Sooo, more beadmaking this evening.

Pay It Forward

I have been so slow to respond to the PIF (Pay It Forward) gift I received from Lori Anderson.  Sorry, Lori.  I really appreciate that you thought of me, and I am sending my PIF today.  Hope she likes it.  Here is what Lori sent me.

Pheasant Feather Earrings

When recently asking my granddaughter what I could make for her, she drew me a picture of a necklace that had a feather as part of the focal piece.  I started looking for some pretty feathers that I could use in some of my designs.  On a recent visit to Layton, Utah I visited a Bead Store in that area and there were some very pretty Pheasant Feathers.  I bought a bag and have been playing around with designs.  I don't have your necklace finished, Madie, but I am working on it.  Instead here are some earrings that I thought would be fun to wear.  They are finished with copper findings.  What do you think?

Drawing

Thanks so much to everyone that have left comments regarding my Bead Soup Creation.  I am holding a drawing for a piece of my jewelry, and originally scheduled it for March 4th, but I am extending that date until March 8th because I am still in Layton, Utah staying with my awesome grandson, and don't have access to the pictures to show the winner what they receive.  So go ahead and leave those comments until March 7th and you might be the winner.

The Soup is done!

Bead Soup that is.  This has been an amazing journey.  Hopping through 209 blogs to see incredible works of jewelry art created by very talented Artists who received beads from their exchange partners.  These 209 artists came from all over the world.  Lori Anderson was the host of her Third Bead Soup Blog Party and put this map together showing where each artist resides.

For those of you who did not participate or attend the party, treat yourself to some eye candy by hopping on to a few of the blogs of our Artists.  You won't be disappointed.  Stop and savor the talents of these wonderful Artists.  You may even find something you can't live without.  Scroll down to find the list of participants.

Many thanks to our lovely, talented and hardworking hostess,
Lori Anderson for putting this party together.  I look forward to Bead Soup Blog Party #4.
